Mr. Moo, the SF Milkman

Ever since my daughter moved from formula to cow’s milk we’ve been going through milk like crazy.  Almost every trip to the store involves buying milk.  Even when I need to pick up something from Walgreens I swing by their freezer section to grab a gallon or two.  And we’ve had a few instances where we’ve run out of milk and had to dash to the store.

That’s why when I heard talk about a local milkman I was eager to learn more.

I did some research, found Mr. Moo, signed up and am now a happy customer.  Mr. Moo delivers milk right to your door in 1/2 gallon glass containers.  He delivers organic, pasteurized, non-homogenized, antibiotic & hormone-free Strauss Family milk along with a long list of other dairy products.

If you’re not familiar with Strauss, you should be. They are family owned & have been for the last 65 years.  They are California’s original organic dairy and the first on the West Coast.  Their cows are given a balanced diet of legumes, hay, grasses, silage and grains.

The milk costs about the same as if you bought organic milk from Safeway, but he adds a small delivery fee each week.   He delivers to San Francisco on Tuesdays and will leave milk on your doorstep or in your lobby if you’re not home.  He’s friendly and responds to “Mr. Moo”, which of course the kids love.

He doesn’t have a website.  Remember, he’s an old-fashioned milkman!  But you can reach him at 1-888-USE-MILK

Tell him Playplanit sent you!

Stopping from SITS! What a great place to get milk! We have a place called Happy Cow here in South Carolina. They don’t deliver though.
